Tulsi or Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) is also known as Indian basil. In Ayurveda, this herb is also called "The Peerless", "Mother Nature" and "Queen of Herbs" for its many supporting properties.
Tulsi is also known to balance Kapha and Vata dosha. According to Ayurvedic texts, daily consumption of the herb Tulsi promotes general well-being supports longevity, and helps control stress, among other benefits.

- RASA (taste) is pungent (Katu) and bitter (Tikta)
- The Guna (physical properties) of Tulsi is that it is light (Laghu), dry (Ruksha) and piercing (Tikshana)

- Tridoshik (balances the three doshas).
