Tapioca flour is becoming increasingly popular as a substitute for plain flour when it comes to eating regimes that exclude grain and gluten consumption.

Tapioca flour is obtained from a peeled, dried and ground whole root of the Manioka plant. The finished flour can be purchased from "Zdravnitza".

You can make tapioca flour at home. For this purpose, the peeled roots of Manioca are shredded into fine pulp. You can grate by hand or use a kitchen robot. After grating, the resulting slurry is "pressed" with a heavy object and allowed to dry.

Tapioca - Manioca

We need to know that there is a difference between the two products. The tapioca is a starch extracted from the root of the maniocа. On the other hand, the manioca flour is the whole root. The only thing that is done for the manioca flour is that the root is peeled, dried and ground.
