Iodine is one of the elements that is present in the body in the smallest quantities and belongs to the so-called trace elements. This with activating substances that are vital for the proper functioning of the body and a beautiful appearance.

- For adults and children up to 18 years - 150-200 micrograms;
- For children - 90 micrograms;
- For pregnant and lactating women - 200 micrograms.

Iodine deficiency can occur when people do not include enough sea salt in their diet, as well as during pregnancy and body growth.

The most dangerous diseases caused by iodine deficiency in the body are:

- sterility
- spontaneous abortions
- birth of a premature or dead child
- slowing down the physical and intellectual development of children
- mental retardation (iodine deficiency lowers mental abilities even in adulthood)
- mental illness
- cretinism
