It is considered the oldest hard soap in the world, produced according to a recipe dating back to the 8th century. Aleppo soap is a natural continuation of the soap-making traditions of the ancient Phoenicians, who until then had used semi-liquid forms of soap.

It is made exclusively from olive oil and laurel oil, without added fragrances, preservatives, or synthetic ingredients. Aleppo soap is handmade using a traditional artisanal technique passed down from generation to generation. Olive oil and laurel oil are blended and boiled at high temperature, after which water and sodium hydroxide, derived from sea salt, are added to initiate the natural saponification process.

The resulting mixture is poured onto special surfaces, where it rests for hours, then it is hand-cut into blocks. The most important stage follows – natural drying and aging, which lasts several months. During this period, the soap develops its hardness, durability, and distinctive appearance.
