Coriander is an annual plant with 30-70 cm high, finely grooved, bare, hollow stem, branched at the top. The fruits (seeds) and the essential oil obtained from them are used.

The fruits contain 1-3% of essential oil with the main ingredient alcohol linalool (coriandrol) - 60 to 80%, which is due to the pleasant aroma. The fruits also contain 10-20% fatty oil, up to 17% protein and a small amount of alkaloids. Flavonoids and coumarins - umbeliferon and scopoletin - have been identified.

Silibinin, as active ingredient in silymarin, can inhibit the synthesis of 5-lipoxygenase which participates in the formation of free radicals to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and inhibit tumor necrosis factor (TNF).

Many systematic studies examined the efficacy of milk thistle to treat liver diseases, in particular, alcoholic liver disease and hepatitis B and C. Prolonged use of Milk Thistle oil contributes to faster resolution of symptoms retention of bile and reduction in indirect bilirubin. It is scientifically proven that the milk thistle oil has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action.

Contains, in Milk Thistle oil - Silymarin inhibits the development of peritonitis formalin and immunologically induced arthritis.

Protective and therapeutic effect of silybin on the hepatic parenchyma is favored by the fact that about 80% of the administered dose is eliminated in the bile.
