In many countries, chicory is grown and distributed as a cultivated plant because of the leaves, which are consumed raw in salads and because of the roots, which are used as a good substitute for coffee.
Nowadays, we can often meet people who love coffee, but can not accept it for various health reasons. The solution is extremely easy - we replace coffee with its natural substitute - an instant drink based on barley and Indian chicory.
Chicory as a coffee substitute
Soluble chicory of granules has a rich taste with bitter notes. The plant is known as a useful alternative to coffee without containing caffeine.
The chicory is particularly rich in inulin, which helps normalize blood sugar. Inulin has a beneficial effect on gastrointestinal activity, promotes bifidobacterial activity and prevents the growth of Salmonella and Escherichia coli bacteria and plays an important role in regulating the blood cholesterol content.
The soluble fiber contained in the plant improves digestion and metabolism.
A warm beverage of soluble chicory of granules is recommended in a state of constant fatigue (asthenia), to improve mental abilities and increase in concentration.
