Useful properties:
Figs are one of the fruits with the highest total fiber content. Water-soluble fiber possesses sorption (absorbing) ability and activates the excretion of fat from food and cholesterol from bile juice. This is why the figs have a hypocholesterolemic and hypolipidemic effect. Soluble fiber of figs also helps to normalize blood sugar by slowing the rate of absorption of nutritional glucose. They increase the sensitivity of cells to insulin and can successfully enroll in dietary regimens for the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
The total fiber content of fig fruit increases the amount of food consumed, enhances the feeling of satiety and contributes to control and reduction of body weight.
It is known that 2-3 fig fruits, boiled to browning with a glass of milk, help overcome the irritating cough and strengthen the immune system.
