Agave syrup is produced from the heart of the plant after filtering the juice of fructose and glucose. Although it does not have the invaluable nutritional qualities of honey, agave syrup is successfully used to sweeten foods and beverages.
Agave syrup is approximately 1.5 times sweeter than white sugar and is an ideal substitute.
Agave syrup has a very low glycemic index compared to other sweeteners and does not spike blood sugar levels. Unlike honey, agave syrup is 100% vegan.
