Sour Cherry
Cerasus vulgaris Mill.

Up to 8 m long tree with wide crown. The leaves are consecutive, elongated oval to oblong ovate. Leaf stems are without glands or 1-2 glands. The flowers are white, 2-3 cm in diameter, gathered 2-4 in the corymbous inflorescences at the base, with small leaves. The cup and the crown are capped. Fruits are spherical, red, stone. Blooms April to May.

It grows all over Bulgaria up to 1500 m above sea level.

For medicinal purposes, the handles of the mature fruit are used.

Sour Cherry - dried handles

Application: as an aid in renal sediments, cystitis, pyelitis, prostatitis, gout, rheumatism, menstrual disorders, etc.

Method of preparation: 1 tablespoon of the herb is boiled for 5 minutes in 500 ml of water. Strain and drink in 3 equal portions the day before meals.
