Phaseolus Vulgaris L.
The beans are cultivated all over Bulgaria. His homeland is South America.
A one-year-old herbaceous plant with a highly branched uninhabited stem. Its leaves are three-dimensional, with broad ovate, tapered leaves, covered with hairs. The flowers are white or pink-violet, collected in racemose inflorescences. The fruit is a long, hanging bean filled with white or otherwise dyed kidney seed.
The herb is used for dry beans without the seeds, which are harvested after their full ripening - in July-September. The collected beans are left in the sun to dry. The dried herb is white or slightly yellow in color, odorless and sweet in taste. It is stored in dry and ventilated rooms.
In the Bulgarian folk medicine, powdered roasted bean seed is used for sprinkling with various eczema.
