Marsh cinquefoil is a herbaceous, flowering plant, also known as purple marshlocks or swamp cinquefoil.

The herb develops in the form of a small bush, up to 30 cm high. Its branches spread into leaves with three to seven narrow leaflets that are toothed. The stem is reddish-brown, low branched, with a vine-like structure. The flowers range from red to purple and bloom in summer.

Marsh cinquefoil contains a high concentration of essential oils, organic acids, tanning substances, etc.
