The bilberry is a semi-shrub, 10-40 cm high, with strongly branched thin ridged stems. The leaves have short stalks, consecutive, light green, ovate, toothed. The colors are arranged singly. The fruit is a multi-seeded, spherical, bluish-black, with a pleasant sour-sweet and slightly astringent taste. It blooms from May to July.
