Ulmus glabra
Other names: Wych elm, Scots elm
Elm is a genus of hedgehog plants of the Ulmaceae family.
It includes between 30 and 40 species of wild-growing trees in the Northern Hemisphere from Siberia to Indonesia and from Mexico to Japan.
The distinction between species is controversial due to their easy hybridization and the presence of a large number of local variations.
There are three species in Bulgaria: Ulmus laevis, Ulmus carpinifolia and Ulmus glabra.
