Other name: Cow parsnip

Hogweed (Heracleum sibiricum) is a perennial herbaceous plant that is a member of the Umbelliferae family. Hogweed is a honey plant.

The plant is believed to have originated in Siberia. It is distributed in Central Europe, Crimea and Kazakhstan. It grows in wet places - in meadows and shady forests. In Bulgaria it is found up to 1000 meters above sea level.

The roots of the herb are used, which are picked in early spring or autumn.

Hogweed - dried root

Application: as an aid in lack of appetite, gastrointestinal colic, sexual weakness, etc.

Method of preparation: Put 5 teaspoons of the herb in 400 ml of cold water. Soak for 8 hours. Strain. Take 1 coffee cup 3-4 times daily before meals.
