Alkanet
Alkanna tinktoria Tausch.
Other names: Dyers' bugloss, Orchanet, Spanish bugloss, Languedoc bugloss.
Alkanet is a herbaceous perennial plant.
Widespread in dry and parched stony places, rarely found in Bulgaria in the Elhovo, Harmanlii, Svilengrad and Struma valleys.
The herb has a vasoconstrictive, antibacterial and itching-reducing effect. Bulgarian folk medicine uses alkanet for spikes, rheumatism, bedwetting, fatty lumps, boils, burns, eczema, gynecological problems, infertility, white discharge, etc.
Alkanet - dried root
Purpose: as an aid for sprains, spikes, rheumatism, paresis, etc. EXTERNAL USE ONLY!
Method of preparation: 15 g of roots are boiled for 15 minutes in 100 ml animal fat. The resulting solidified extract is used for external application on the skin of the affected areas of the body.
Option 2: The contents of the package are added to 250 ml black seed oil or olive oil, which have been preheated in a water bath for 10 minutes. The extract (ointment) thus prepared is applied to the problem areas 2 times a day.
