The main ingredient of Gymnema (Meshashringi) is gymnemic acid, which has antidiabetic properties. It reduces increased blood sugar. It also has a regenerating effect on the beta cells of the pancreas, stimulating the production and activity of insulin. Gymnema temporarily reduces the desire for sweets. It increases the activity of enzymes responsible for the absorption of glucose.

Indian Kino Tree’s (Pitasara) has inhibitory properties towards alpha-glucosidase and regulates the main metabolic enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism.

Shilajeet reduces hepatic glucose production and prevents hyperglycemia. Shilajeet has a protective effect on pancreatic β-cells and stimulates endogenous insulin action.
