Maidenhair spleenwort
Asplenium trichomanes L.
Maidenhair spleenwort is a small perennial plant with short, branched roots, covered with brown linear flakes. The leaves are 5-15 cm long, overwintering, glabrous, with a stem 2-3 times longer than the petal, dichotomously divided into 2-4 linear lobes (1 mm wide).
Maidenhair spleenwort grows from cracks in rocks in mountains all over Bulgaria.
In Bulgarian folk medicine the herb is used against fear.
Maidenhair spleenwort - dried stalk
Application: as an aid to balance the nervous processes.
Method of preparation: 1 teaspoon of the herb is boiled in 500 ml of water for 3 minutes. Strain and drink in 3 equal portions during the day before meals.
