Mint (Mentha) is a genus of perennial herbaceous plants of the Ust-colored family. The stem is branched, about 0.70 m high, quadrangular, the leaves are simple, oblong, sharply toothed. The flowers are reddish-purple, gathered in spike-like inflorescences; the seeds are small. All aboveground parts of the plant contain essential oil with the main component menthol (45-65%).
