Semi-spruce with strongly branched, densely lined, four-stemmed, gray-green stems, 20-50 cm high. The leaves are opposite, with handles. Colors are collected at 6-10. The fruit is composed of 4 dark brown or forehead, almost spherical nuts. Blooms June-July.
It is often grown in gardens as a decorative and curative plant. Originates from the Mediterranean region.
