Purslane
Portulaca oleracea
Other names: little hogweed, pursley
Purslane is an annual herb. The stems are creeping or erect, succulent, forked from their base, up to 50 cm long, glabrous. The lower leaves are successive and the upper ones almost opposite, all sessile, oblong-obovate to lanceolate, obtuse, narrowed at the base, fleshy, shiny. The flowers are small, single, or 2-3, sitting on the branches on the stem or in the axils of the leaves.
Purslane is a plant that is sometimes considered a weed but is included as a product mainly for salads in the cuisine of many countries.
Bulgarian folk medicine uses purslane for diseases of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal discomfort, to normalize body weight, etc.

Application: as an aid in diabetes, anemia, endocrine disorders, etc.
Method of preparation: 1 teaspoon of the herb is boiled for 3 minutes in 500 ml of water. It is filtered and drunk in 3 equal parts during the day before meals.
