Angelica
(Angelica Pancicii Vand.)
Perennial herb with short fennel. The stem is up to 1.5 m high, straight, cylindrical, hollow, at the top branched. The leaves are double or triple apart.
The rhubarb contains about 1% essential oil with main ingredient p-feldish, as well as a-pinene, p-cymol and the like. Also containing coumarins - angelin, octol, otenol, emperatrin, xantotoxin, bergten, umbelliferone, umbelprenin, and some other compounds such as angelic acid, flavonoids - naringenine derivatives, β-sitosterol, etc., are pharmacologically active.
