Fenugreek is an annual plant of the Legume family, known for the spice made from its seeds. The stem is hollow and reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm. The fruits are pods 10–15 cm long and contain 10–20 seeds.

Fenugreek seeds stimulate the metabolism, lower the blood sugar level, improve the appetite and restore the body's strength.
Bulgarian folk medicine uses fenugreek for pellagra, diabetes, lung diseases, etc.
Culinary use:
It is used in the Bulgarian national cuisine as a seasoning for meat, fish, vegetable dishes, etc. Due to its strong antiseptic effect, it is used to prepare sujus and sausages, to kaiser meat in combination with other spices. It goes well with savory, chives, dill, parsley, red and black pepper.

Usage:
For culinary as a seasoning for sujuk (sucuk), sausages, kaiser meat, fish, meat dishes.
To make tea (infusion):
One tablespoon of the seeds is poured with 400 ml of hot water and soaked for 1 hour. Drink 1 glass of wine before meals, 4 times a day.
