Fenugreek is an annual plant known for the spice that is made from its seeds. The stem is hollow and reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm. Fruits are pods of 10-15 cm in length and contain 10-20 seeds. Fenugreek is well known as a commonly used ingredient in the spice mix "colorful salt" used in Bulgaria and other Balkan countries.
Cultivated in gardens as a spice and decorative plant. Originates from Southeast Asia.
Stalks and seeds are used.
